NC Hunting Preserve - Thee Thicket
Accommodations
Our 1800's-built Lodge is our heritage. It is complete with an extensive collection of Old South-era black and white photos. An abandoned farm house lovingly rescued by a descendant, it has been made the most of within its era built restrictions. The Lodge includes 4 bed rooms with firm, new queen and full size beds with 600 thread count sheets, 3 ½ baths, dining room, fireplace lounge, and a game room, all of which is rounded off with a covered front porch and a large, uncovered deck for viewing stars and listening for coyotes.

We take our dining seriously with hot breakfast biscuits and a lunch tasty enough to induce excess. Add in a needed nap before an afternoon in the field- followed by fire ring cocktails, appetizers, and a main course that includes items such as shrimp and grits, snapper stuffed with crab meat and shrimp, or our signature marinated quail or chukar, all served under the stars on our large open deck. And if you are craving a delightful desert, our fulfilling main course may be supplemented with our unique homemade ice cream over tempura fried banana.

Fine cigars and fine wines are an immediately accommodated extra. We are also privy to an outstanding wine shop nearby, On The Square. All of which may be followed with a night time tour of the farm in our stretch electric golf cart, and maybe a bon fire or two on a cold night to warm up along the way.
